Russell L. Schneider
February 12, 1955 - September 17, 2024
Russell Lee Schneider, 69, of Bellevue, NE, passed away Tuesday, September 17, 2024, in Omaha. Born February 12, 1955, in Fremont, NE, to Charles and Esther 'Onie' (Barnes) Schneider.
Russell grew up in Fremont, worked for Hormel and the railroad, before joining the Marines, in 1978. He retired from the US Marines as Gunnery Seargent on January 31, 1997. He married, Theresa Rios, on January 3, 199,7 in Manassas, VA. They moved to Nebraska in 1998, and Russell then worked at UNO in the security department.
Survived by wife, Theresa Bellevue; son, Rusty Schneider; and daughter, Rachel Schneider, both AZ; stepsons, Freddie Garcia Bellevue, and Joseph Velez Augusta, GA; sister, Connie Mendez, Fremont; and 7 grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his parents.
Military Graveside Service 2:00 PM, Friday, September 27, 2024, at Ridge Cemetery in Fremont.
