Thomas Tonjum

Thomas J. Tonjum, 46, of Clinton, Wis., died Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2005, in his home.

He was born May 15, 1959, in Faribault, Minn., the son of John and Mary Roell Tonjum. He was a graduate of Bergan High School in Fremont. He married Norma Riedmann. He later married Peggy Jones on May 15, 2000. He was employed by Serta Mattress.

He enjoyed the outdoors, camping, canoeing, fishing, hunting, four wheeling, motorcycles, playing poker and computer games. He was a Minnesota Vikings fan.

He was a member of St. Patrick's Church in Fremont.

Survivors include: his wife, Peggy Tonjum of Clinton; three children, Emily Marie Tonjum and Elliott Patrick Tonjum, both of Emerson, and Megan Ann (and husband, Ross Dittmer) McDuffee of Clinton; a grandson, Benjamin Ryan McDuffee; his parents, John and Mary Tonjum of Fremont; a brother, Mark (and wife, Ella) Tonjum of Sioux City, Iowa; two sisters, Jane Tonjum and Nancy Maple, both of Fremont; special friends, Johnny (and wife, Patti) Vance of Caledonia, Ill., and Bobby Hanson of Beloit, Wis.; and all his co-workers at Serta and Fred Butler of Janesville, Wis.

He was predeceased by a sister, Ann Tonjum.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
