Wilhelmine "Billie" K. Hannan, 94, of Fremont passed away Sunday, Feb. 16, 2014, at A.J. Merrick Manor in Fremont.
Billie was born April 27, 1919, on a ranch north of Lewellen to Ernest and Marie (Kuehne) Koberstein.
Billie married William T. Hannan on May 25, 1941, in Lincoln. He preceded her in death on Feb. 22, 2004. The couple lived various places due to William's military service. After his service, they moved to a farm north of Mead, where they raised their five sons. They moved to Grand Island in 1963, where the couple retired. She moved to Fremont in 2012.
She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Fremont. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, golfing, playing bridge, and reading.
Survivors include: her sons, William and Nancy Hannan and Robert Hannan, both of Mead, Richard and Linda Hannan of Greeley, Colo., and J.P. and Candi Hannan of Mead; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Michael Hannan; and two brothers, Cliff and Ernie Koberstein.
The funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Friday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Fremont with the Rev. David Belt officiating. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Thursday at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont with a vigil service at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to service time Friday at the church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Fremont.
Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society for research or Fremont Area Medical Center Hospice.
