Adam Meisner Obituary

ADAM MEISNER, JR. July 15, 1920 November 27, 2006 Adam was born at the family home to his parents Adam and Katherine (Haras) Meisner in Fresno, California. Adam started his life's work at a young age. Upon the purchase of his parents farm, he and his siblings worked the farm while his mother took care of their home and his father earned a living at the packing houses in Fresno. Once Adam graduated from Roosevelt Grammar School, he continued to work the family plot and the farms of other's living around the home place. Adam met his future bride, Nita May Brown, on a double blind date. They married on January 18, 1941. in Fresno, California. Their marriage produced three sons, Dennis, Gary, and Mike. Adam and Nita moved to Madera in 1965 and built a home on their newly purchased vineyard. Adam was one of the first mechanical grape harvesters in Madera County and commented, "you drove it all night and worked on it all day". He continued to spend time in the field up until his passing. Adam loved to fish the streams around Fish Camp with his children and grandchildren. He also took great pride and joy in watching his son and grandson race at Madera Speedway. That love of racing continued with the watching of Nascar. He enjoyed taking the 'end of harvest' trips to Tahoe and Reno with his family and friends. His favorite TV programs were Gunsmoke and Bonanza. Adam also had a favorite soap opera. Adam's dogs, Bear and Bug, will truly miss him as will his family. He is survived by Nita Meisner, his loving wife of 65 years; his three sons, Dennis and his wife Eva of Madera, Gary and his wife Jan of Fresno, and Mike and his wife Jayne of Madera; brother, Pete Meisner and his wife Irene of Fresno; sister, Pauline Christian of Fresno; seven grandchildren, Melonie Lizak and her husband Laddie, Dennis Meisner Jr. and his wife Rachel, Gina Phillips and her husband Brett, Bridget Kinchen and her husband Kenny, Melissa Patton, Rebecca Matney and her husband Ken, and Scott Meisner and his wife Shannon; eight great-grandchildren, Monica Meisner, Mitchell Meisner, Rhett Meisner, Garrett Phillips, Whitnee Phillips, Cameron Patton, Dakota Matney, and Mackenzie Matney; two stepgrandchildren, Gabriel Bohlen and Jacob Bohlen; and seven great-stepgrandchildren, Jessica Lizak, Breanne Lizak, Callie Wilson, Emily Wilson, Alexander Wilson, Jacob Bohlen Jr. and Miles Weddles. You are in our prayers & thoughts
as we extend our deepest sympathy.
I (Ron) have great memories of Uncle
Adam, and each of you when we were
just young kids...I looked forward
to every visit! He was the hardest
working man I ever knew...admired
and respected by so many. I, and
my family will truly miss him.
Love, Ron & Ruth Rodgers & Families.
