Alfredo Jose Quiroz

ALFREDO JOSE QUIROZ Alfredo Quiroz was born on May 7, 1926, in La Cresenta, CA and passed away at the age of 77 on May 29, 2003. Freddie was raised in Mexico until, the age of 15 and returned to the United States working where he could in the states of Washington, Oregon and Idaho. His journey through young-adulthood brought him to Fresno, CA, at the age of 21 where he met his wife of 56 years, Carmen Contreras Quiroz. Freddie was a devoted husband, loving father and an inspiring Latino who worked diligently all his life, against all odds, but with great success. He and Carmen truly lived the American Dream. With his wife at his side, together they owned a hotel, several restaurants and five nightclubs in both Firebaugh and Fresno. Freddie is preceded in death by his beloved Carmen, who passed away only three months ago, and their only child, Anthony Alfred Quiroz, who passed away on May 5, 1991. He lived in both their hearts forever. Freddie is preceded in death by his parents Antonio and Loreta Quiroz, his brothers, Agustin Quiroz and Enrique Quiroz, his sister, Grasiela Quiroz, and two nephews. He is survived by his brother Roberto Quiroz, six nieces including Olga Ayala, Gloria Bernal and Brenda Quiroz, six nephews including, Albert Quiroz and Robert Quiroz, 16 great-nieces, and eight great-nephews. Alfredo and Carmen were generous philanthropics, leaving scholarship funds both to Our Lady of Victory School and San Joaquin Memorial High School. A Rosary will be recited and a Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church on Wednesday, June 4, 2003, at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Peters Cemetery.
