Ampie was a grand lady who freely extended her generosity to all whom she met and knew. She was an advocate for the poor and acted in their behalf through her church work. She left her mark here and I'm sure is reaping her rewards now.

Ampie was 60 when I first met her. She said then she would never retire. "That's for the birds," she said. And had it not been for hip problems in her mid-80s, she wouldn't have retired at all. She was the most hardworking person I ever met. Always helpful to friends and family. Fiercely loyal and generous to those she loved. And she loved no one more than her late husband Larry and her parents whom she talked about often. It is a comfort to Art and me that she is re-uinited with them in everlasting love.
