Amy Hernandez Obituary

Amy Jean Hernandez (Hirschinger), of Fresno, CA died peacefully on March 3rd. Amy was born and raised in Baraboo, WI. She enlisted in the Navy in 1978. While serving as a lab tech, Amy spent time in Antarctica and New Zealand, and eventually met and married Manuel Hernandez in Oakland (now divorced). After moving to Fresno, Amy became involved with Sweet Adelines, competing in quartets and with the chorus. Eventually, she went back to school for a nursing degree, and graduated from Fresno City College. Amy worked for Kaiser Permanente, as well as Planned Parenthood. She enjoyed local live music and visual art, and she also wrote poetry when she wasn't working on her crossword puzzles. She is lovingly remembered and survived by her two daughters, Kathryn and Beth, Beth's husband Scott, and their two children, her brother Thomas and his family, her sister Claire, and many cherished friends.

Amy has been in our thoughts over the last year and we miss her dearly. However, she has left a rich legacy of two wonderful daughters, Katie and Beth as well as two
beautiful children, Madeline and Noah, who bring great joy to all of us.

Already 1 year. Seems so long ago, and yet it doesn't. I remember our last day together. Not bad for someone with short term memory loss eh! lol Always get to cherish the time we had, our friendship. So grateful for the time we had together my friend. We had so much fun and laughter.
I know you are at peace.

Amy was one of four children of Robert and Sarah Hirschinger. Amy lived in and loved the historic town of Baraboo, Wisconsin. I remember Amy as a spirited girl who was talented and smart.
I have always been impressed with her accomplishments such as serving her country and completing her degree in Nursing.
Amy has two very intelligent and talented daughters who, like Amy,are accomplished in their professions.
My wife, Imi, and I are very sad about her passing and extend our sympathy to her family.

Words can't express how much I will miss you. I still have the email you sent me after Beth's wedding shower because your words meant so much to me. You were a generous and loving soul...and I vow to keep your exuberance in my life every day. I love you.
