Andrew Von Rembow Obituary

ANDREW JOSEPH VON REMBOW Andy was born on October 24, 1921, in Omro, WI and passed away on Thursday, August 5, 2004, in Fresno at age 82. He enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corp in May of 1942 and served aboard the S.S Lurline in the invasion of the Philippines (Manilla Bay). After sea duty, Andy was stationed at Treasure Island in San Francisco. After his discharge from the Marine Corp in 1946, Andy attended Armstrong Business College in Berkley, CA. He studied financial and business law. He began his career with Chevron Chemical Co. on January 3, 1949, working as the assistant to the vice president of marketing. Andy received his Public Accounting license in 1948, and ran his own business for three years as a second job. In 1955, he was transferred to Southern California where he worked with the District Sales Manager. In 1961, he was promoted to operations manager for Southern California and Arizona. Andy completed the Toast Masters International School and attended California Institute of Technology. Andy transferred to Fresno, CA in March of 1969 as the Assistant to the Regional Manager and retired from this position in 1982. Andy served on the Board of Directors for Junior Achievement and Fresno County Sportsman Club. He also raised money for the Fresno State Bulldogs Foundation. Andy worked in several political campaigns for Earl Smittcamp for Congress, Lynn Joyner for Supervisor, Sharon Levy for Supervisor, and Charles Chip Pashayan for Congress. Andy is survived by his wife Jane; daughter Andrea and her husband Tom; son Mark and his wife Suzy; daughter Debbie; son Gary and his wife Melissa; son Michael and his wife Mischelle; six grandchildren, Matthew, Natalie, Nathan, Andrew, Tyler and Marissa Von Rembow. A Graveside Service will be at Clovis District Cemetery on Thursday, August 12, 2004, at 10:00 a.m.
