Barbara Martina Obituary

BARBARA MARTINA Barbara, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, passed away on Tuesday, April 26, 2005, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Her faith in God and her courage in her last days made her an inspiration to all. Barbara was born in Shawnee, OK on March 19, 1937, to Pres and Opal Weaver. She graduated from Fresno High School in 1956, and became a wife and a mother. Her greatest joy was her family. She was dearly loved by her children, grandchildren and their friends. Barbara was preceded in death by her daughter, Jerri Elser. She is survived by Ernest Martina, her loving husband of 49 years; a daughter, Natalie Martina of Coarsegold; three sons, Marty Martina of Clovis, Louie Martina and his wife Margurey of Clovis, and Jason Martina and his wife Laura of Coarsegold. She is also survived by six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two brothers, Jimmy Weaver of Los Gatos and Jerry Weaver of Fresno; and two sisters, Joyce Hopley of Scottsdale, AZ, and Peggy Gundunas of Los Altos. A Memorial Service will be at Yosemite Lakes Community Church, 43840 Patrick Ave. in Coarsegold, CA on Friday, May 6, 2005, at 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Natalie Martina Benefit for Barbara, c/o Washington Mutual Bank, Acct. 1850955883, Oakhurst, CA.
