David Ostergaard Obituary

David Ostergaard
October 21, 1963 - December 31, 2020
Fresno, California - David Kenneth Ostergaard was born in Fresno on October 21, 1953 and passed away December 31, 2020. He is preceded in death by his parents Kenneth & Betty Ostergaard and sister Diane Ostergaard. David leaves behind daughter & son in-law Mary Ann & Felipe Montez, 3 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, 3 sisters/brother in-law Linda & Bob Clawson, Judy & Jim Errecart and Susan Hendrix as well as nephews, nieces and friends.
David spent his growing up years in Kerman graduating from Kerman High School Class of 1972 and spent time working for his dad building custom homes. He learned excellent skills, obtained his contractors license and you would hear him often say "that's how dad would have done it." He loved his trade. David loved his family and friends calling often to just say hi or tell a joke. He also loved playing golf and enjoyed watching his favorite PGA Tour player Dustin Johnson. He will be greatly missed by all.

I’m sorry to read of Mary Ann’s father passing. I was Mary Ann’s 3 rd grade teacher at Jane Addams. They are a terrific family and Mary Ann’s mother was so kind to me as a new teacher. Mary Ann was one of my unforgettable favorite students.

David was my high school classmate. He and my dad played golf at the same course.

On several occassions I saw David there, and he was so white, when he was outside on the course it almost blinded me!

He would have a thick layer of white sun block on his nose.
Several times at school I saw him with a sun burned nose. Poor guy. He and the sun didn't get along.

He once picked me up to take me to a Selland Arena concert. I was embarrased when he showed up in his dad's work truck, complete with the company logo promenently painted on the sides
and a metal rack on the back. We certainly weren't inconspicuous.

When we sat down in the arena, the gal behind me had on the exact same pantsuit as I. What were the odds of that?
I was embarrassed that evening, but never let on.
I last saw David when we sat across from him at our class reunion. We all laughed and laughed. I laughed so much I lost my voice. What a fun night!

David was always easy going, kind, and a true gentleman. I was shocked to hear of his passing, and hope to see him again one day.
Rest in peace my friend.
