Edward Carl Polterock Jr. departed this life on Monday, June 11, 2007, after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. He was born on March 25, 1933, in Piedmont, California. Ed attended Piemont High School and was an exceptional basketball and baseball player. His friends nickmaned him, Stats for his unique ability to calculate the odds faster than anyone around. In 1955, Ed graduated from San Francisco State University with a dgree in Business Administration. That same year he was commissioned into the U.S. Air Force. He served three years as an officer. When stationed in Cheyenne, Wyoming, Ed met Marilyn, the love of his life, a stewardess in training for United Airlines. They were married seven months later. Although I did not know Ed very well, he and I had the opportunity to work together on several real estate transactions, which all resulted from his developing a very positive relationship with doctors. I thoroughly enjoyed our working relationship and was looking forward to many more. Ed had allot of credibility and know that he is now in good hands and with god's help, I will hope to see him again. My sympathy to the Polterock family, as they have lost their leader and I have lost a good business friend.

I knew Ed from the time he first arrived in Fresno as a Pharmaceutical sales representative. We were in the same profession and while our territories were not the same, our paths crossed many times. We were good friends, played city league basketball, and water skied and were trustees in the Buldog Foundation, and members if a gourmet dinner group. Ed was an outstanding salesman who worked smart, worked hard, was dependable, and most of all always honest. Fresno area is a better place because of him and his family.
Our most sincere condolences go to the entire family, and we know that memories of Ed will help get all of them through this difficult time.
Fondly,
Fred & Dee Stein

I never got a chance to tell Ed how much I admired him. Over three years of working with him left a lasting impression. Especially with how hard he worked when he was suppose to be retired. He always talked about his family that he loved so much, even when Ed was a Dodger fan while his family were Giants fans.
I'll always remember my fellow Dodger fan and my good friend.

Always quick with smile and joke, Ed will be missed by all that have grown to know and respect him over the years.
In my business dealings with Ed, I learned quickly thath you could always count on him to watch out for the business interests of others. His word was his bond, and when things got tough, he was as solid as rock. I will truely miss him. I am so sorry that I never took the opportunity to tell Ed how much respect I had for him and how greatful I was for his friendship. Good bye Ed, I know you are at peace now.
