ELMER ASHLEY TOPPING

Elmer Ashley Topping passed away at the age of 95 on Wednesday, October 1, 2014, at his home in Fresno. He was born on March 6, 1919, in Fresno to Muriel Pratt and Florentine Topping. Elmer Ashley Topping was a Fresno son and cowboy before joining the service in 1941. As a member of the greatest generation, Staff Sergeant Topping, served in the Pacific Theater during World War II. He received two air medals and five battle stars as a B24 gunner. Upon returning home he married Kathleen Moss and they enjoyed 60 years together. He worked for PG&E 37 years as a senior maps draftsman. Ashley is survived by three children; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. His acts of service will be greatly missed by family, friends, and neighbors. Visitation will be held at Clovis Funeral Chapel on Friday, October 24, 2014, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at Clovis Funeral Chapel on Saturday, October 25, 2014, at 9:00 a.m. Military honors will be presented at Clovis Cemetery.
