ESTHER LIMA

Esther passed away in Fresno on Sunday, February 7, 2010, at the age of 78. A native and lifelong resident in Fresno, she was a long time resident of the Easton area. Esther graduated from Edison High School with the class of 1949. She loved to play the card game "Skat" with her long time high school girl friends. She enjoyed having lunch with her sister, Frieda Cook, high school girl friends, and a few good friends from the Easton area. Esther was a member of the S.P.R.S.I. Portuguese Society and enjoyed gardening in her yard. Esther was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Manuel F. Lima in 1999. She and Manuel together had 6 children including two sons who preceded her in death, Todd Lima and Larry Lima. She is survived by survived by her children, Patricia Peeren and her husband Rick of Fresno, Linda Jacoby and her husband Tim of Squaw Valley, Clark Lima and his wife Diane of Fresno, and Lori Reyes of Fresno. She is the sister of Frieda Cook of Fresno, Helen Streit of LaVerne, Ca., and the sister-in-law of Emily Lima of Fresno. She is the grandmother of nine, and great-grandmother of six, whom she loved very much. Also surviving are four nieces, and three nephews. Visitation will be held at St. Jude's Catholic Church in Easton on Monday, February 15, 2010, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. with Recitation of the Holy Rosary following at 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Jude's Church in Easton on Tuesday, February 16, 2010, at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Washington Colony Cemetery.
