Frank Lang Obituary

Frank Lang
June 27, 1936 - September 15, 2021
Fresno, California - Frank Herbert Lang Jr. was born in Modesto, CA to Frank H. Lang Sr. and Leila Joyce (Crowell). The middle son of three, he enjoyed an active childhood, spending many summers on the family ranch in Turlock. He attended Roosevelt High School where he excelled in athletics and student activities. Frank began Fresno State College as a speech major in 1953. He joined student groups and social organizations and was a member of Sigma Nu. He met Peggy Bunton, the reigning Campus Queen, during their junior year. They married the following year and moved to Oakland where Peggy taught school and Frank attended Boalt Law School at UC Berkeley. They returned to Fresno in 1961, and Frank, along with Phil Fullerton, founded the law firm that would become Lang, Richert, and Patch. Frank was an AV rated attorney, specializing in bankruptcy law until his retirement in 1999. He was president of the California Bankruptcy Forum and Central California Bankruptcy Association, and was a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute.
The Langs lived on Carmen Ave. in the Tower District for 50 years and raised four children, Laura Lang, Lesley Lang-Lopez, John Lang, and Lindsay Lang Robinson. Frank travelled extensively, was an avid tennis player, and loved backpacking. He was involved in several community organizations and educational programs. They attended the First Congregational Church of Fresno where Frank served as head usher. In 2018 the Langs moved to the Terraces at San Joaquin Gardens, where Frank quickly became involved in the community.
Frank is survived by his four children and 8 grandchildren. The family invites you to share thoughts and memories on www.never-gone.com/memorials/fhl. In lieu of gifts, we encourage donations to the Alzheimer's Association in memory of Peggy, whom we lost in 2019.

I always enjoyed seeing Frank Lang appear in court. He was a true gentleman and very quietly and effectively made his arguments to the court. He will be missed by all who knew him.

My thoughts and prayers are with your family. Mr. Lang was an awesome Chapter 11 attorney and we at the court enjoyed talking with him. He will be truly missed.

I loved seeing Frank. He was a favorite. I would ask him questions about his economy magazine; great conversation. What a life he lived inspires me to be more involved in the community.
