Hazel True Obituary

HAZEL RUBY TRUE

Hazel was born on May 8, 1912, to Jasper and Eugenia Barnes in Maud, OK. She passed away on Tuesday, February 7, 2006, in Clovis, CA, at age 93. In 1932, Hazel married Othel True and they were married for 49 years until his death on January 25, 1982. They farmed grapes and cotton in the Selma area and Hazel was supervisor of the Selma District grammer school cafeteria until her retirement in 1967. When she was in her late eighties, she crocheted 200-plus baby caps for the birthing centers at Kaiser and Valley Medical Center. Much of her time in the last five years at Sierra Villa Rest Home were spent reading and studying her bible. She was a very dedicated member of the Northwest Seventh Day Adventist Church. Hazel was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Carl Barnes; sister, Vera Leep; and her precious grandson, Russell Filer. Hazel will be deeply missed by her son, Gerald True and his wife Sherra; daughters, Patricia Fraga and Shirley Filer and her husband Stanton; brothers, Hollis Barnes and his wife Bette and Harold Barnes and his wife Florence; sister, Mary Ellen Taylor; and many dear cousins and friends. She will also be greatly missed by her grandchildren, Robert Fraga and his wife Donna, Dawn Rohm and her husband Dave, Marty True and his wife Dana, and Rhonda Hiatt and her husband Michael; and great-grandchildren, Justin Fraga, Kristina Hammack and her husband Kyle, Laura Rohm and twins David and Kaley Rolm. Visitation will be at Page Funeral Chapel in Selma on Sunday, February 12, 2006, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. A Graveside Service will be held at Floral Memorial Park in Selma, CA on Monday, February 13, 2006, at 11:00 a.m. Remebrances may be made in Hazel's name to American Heart Assoc., 7425 N.
