HENRY INOUYE Obituary

Henry was born April 9, 1922, in Parlier Ca. to parents Chotaro and Sada Inouye who immigrated from Japan to California in the 1920's. Prior to WWII, the Inouye family were farm workers living in a Japanese labor camp in Delano. Henry was a graduate of Delano High School. He married Teruko Mitsui and later moved from a Fresno Detention Center to Arizona and Arkansas relocation camps. At the end of the war, he came to Kingsburg to sharecrop with Helen and Alice Nilsen and purchased a farm in Selma. He was a past President of the Kingsburg Buddhist Church, and also participated in the Nisei Farmers League. Namu Amida Butsu He is preceded in death by his daughter, Bonnie Togo. He is survived by his wife, Teruko; son, Steve; brothers, George and Jim Inouye, sister, Lilly Hiramoto; and granddaughters, Crystal, Darla, and Elyse Togo. A Funeral Service will be held at Kingsburg Buddhist Church on Sunday, August 22, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. CREIGHTON MEMORIAL CHAPEL 1588 Lincoln Street Kingsburg (559)897-2908
