J. Fisher Obituary

J. George Fisher of Fresno passed away on Friday, April 30, 2010, at his home in Fresno with his family present. He was born in Canton, Il on September 24, 1940; son of the late Leila Purtle and Joseph Yadro. He worked as an independent Insurance Agent for 30 years. He was involved in Girls Softball, Red Wave Golf Tournaments, Fresno State's Bulldog Foundation, Order of Elks, Fresno Yacht Club, Clampers and Fresno County Farm Bureau. He was the beloved husband of Carolyn Fisher; devoted father of Kim and Karey; loving "Pop" of Breanna and Joshua Walter; his sisters, Sandi and Jeretta; and brother Steve. He will also be missed forever by many friends in Fresno and Illinois alike. Visitation will be at the Smith Manor Grace Chapel, 801 E. Yosemite Ave., Madera, Ca., on Thursday, May 6, 2010, at 12:00 p.m; followed by A Funeral Service at the Chapel, at 1:00 p.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the services as well as a Celebration of his Life to be held at the family residence. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in George's memory to the American Diabetes Association at 1-800- 342-2383 (George Fisher Memorial Fund) or the Reedley College Women's Golf at 995 N. Reed Ave., Reedley, Ca. 93654.
