JACK ENOS Obituary

Jack was born in Riverdale, CA and spent his summers on horseback working on his uncles' vast cattle ranches in Woodlake and the West Side. He graduated from Riverdale High School in 1952 and starred in basketball and baseball. He also attended College of the Sequoias and Fresno State College.

Jack was drafted into the US Army, stationed in Korea where he was on the rifle team and Special Services playing 1st trumpet in the 1st Calvary Division Army band.

In 1955 Jack began a 20 year career with the Fresno Police Department where he served as a patrolman, detective, numerous investigative positions, and range master. In 1969 Det. Enos was named Policeman of the Year in Fresno County and promoted to Sergeant assigned to the Westside/Chinatown.

Upon retirement Jack expanded his land holdings and built a successful farming and ranching operation in the Sanger area. He also participated in All Police Rodeos throughout California winning several state team-roping titles.

Jack is survived by Judith Ann Belden, his wife of 50 years; and their two sons, Eric and Matthew.

An outstanding baseball coach, he coached their boys throughout Little League and Babe Ruth, winning many city and all-star championships. Jack's boys followed in their father's footsteps with careers in law enforcement, Eric with the US Secret Service and Office of Inspector General and Matt as an officer / detective with the Fresno Police Department.

Jack was a 50+ year Mason. He and Judy especially enjoyed spending time with their boys, daughter's-in-law, Cheryl and Leana, and the grandchildren. Jack was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather who always put his family first.

It´s been 9 years since Mr.Enos passed and there are times when he pops into my mind. It´s amazing how people influence you while you´re growing up and you are not even aware of it. I looked up to Mr. Enos and treasure the life lessons he taught me with his little talks. He and his beautiful wife (Judy) did a great job raising such fine men.

Enos Family,
I was honored to know such a great man who took the time to teach us the game of Baseball. Through him we learned how to play as a team, be leaders & be passionate about what we were doing. I had not seen Mr. Enos for 20 yrs but ran into him at a doctors appointment. He talked so highly about his Grandkids, and how proud he was of his sons Matt, Eric & the love of his life Mrs.Enos. I am so happy I got to see him, thank you Mr. Enos for contributing to what I am today.

God Bless
Bobby Velasco.
