Jack Reddemann

Jack was born to Otto and Mamie Reddemann in Fresno, Ca., on July 8, 1926. He remained a lifelong Fresno resident. He died peacefully on Wednesday, February 25, 2009, at the age of 82, after a lengthy battle with Parkinson's. Jack attended area schools and graduated from Fresno Tech High School in 1944. He went on to serve honorably in the U.S. Army in WWII. He was a Military Policeman stationed in Hawaii from February 23, 1945, until his discharge on November 1, 1946. In 1950, Jack joined the Fresno City Fire Department, and served with pride for 37 years. He spoke fondly of his experiences and friends in the department, and was a member of the Fresno Retired Firefighters Association. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 509, the Fresno Elks Lodge, and the Roaring 20's Auto Club. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Albert Reddemann; and sisters, Ruby Reddemann, Lillian Welch, and Lucy Johnson. Jack is survived by LaDonna Reddemann, his wife of 46 years; a son, John Reddemann and his wife Melanie of Palmdale, Ca.; and a daughter, Joanna Kim and her husband Robert of Clovis, Ca. He also is survived by four grandchildren, Ryan Reddemann, Logan Reddemann, Kailey Kim, and Jared Kim. Visitation will be held at Whitehurst, Sullivan, Burns & Blair Funeral Home on Monday, March 2, 2009, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held at Whitehurst, Sullivan, Burns & Blair Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 3, 2009, at 11:30 a.m. Remembrances may be made to the Fresno Fire Chiefs Foundation, P.O.
