Jim was the sweetest man. He used to fly into the Monterey Jet Center and always remembered my name. We will miss him greatly.

I knew of James through his sister Judy, who was in my class. (1957)
I remember he was a nice looking kind of thin kid, but very nice!

I had the privelage to work for Jim.
Jim was a great Friend, Boss, and Mentor. He had a positive impact on the lives of many-many people...

Jim and I go back to his years at Fresno State. We shared an apartment and we worked together at my father's market (Tarpey Village). I long ago left the Valley (I now live in Cincinnati) but I have only fond memories of his spirit. He was colleague and friend. We spent many times together in the mid-sixties. Never a truer friend could one have. I wish I had had the opportunity to know his family and I extend my sympathies to each and everyone one of you. He was a fine man; one whose standards were for all of us to follow.

Though I last saw Jim the summer after we graduated from LHS. I have many good memories of our high school days. He was in our group and was always such a cutup back then. My sympathy goes out to his family because I know they will surely miss him but the memories do not pass away.

Though I did not keep in touch with Jim over the years, I have stayed connected through his daughter, Juli, and have always felt he was a good man and a great father. He loved his kids in a boundless way that was enviable. I last saw him at Juli's wedding and he was so happy there that it is a good reflection for me to look back upon now.
I remember him best from 25 years back when my friend, Juli's mom, connected us all together. He was a vibrant man with a gusto for life and love and I'm sure that followed him into his later years. Plus, he gave some of the best BBQ's I've ever attended! You never left the Elrod household hungry! I'm sure he is still being the gracious host on whatever star he sits today.
My sincerest sympathies and good thoughts go out to his family members and to Juli, in particular.

My heart and prayers go out to the Elrod Family during this time
of sorrow. I had the opportunity and pleasure to work for Jim at his
charter aviation business. He was a great boss and friend.
I will miss him dearly.
With love and sincere condolences,
