JAMES LEROY SEATON, SR. Auto Salesman

James Leroy Seaton Sr., age 74, of Pixley passed away Monday, January 3, 2005. He was born in Pixley. He was in the car business for 56 years. During those years, he was employed by Charles Nicely Ford, Swanson Farney Ford and Del Munson Chevrolet, which were all in Pixley, and for the last 37 years with Merle Stone Chevrolet in Tulare. Leroy was loved by his many friends and customers and his customers were also his friends. This was evident in the fact that from the late 1960's through the late 1990's, Leroy was one of Chevrolet's national top ranked salesmen, earning recognition in Chevrolet's "Legion of Leaders" for over thirty consecutive years. He was known as a man of honesty and integrity. His hobbies were working on and restoring old cars, camping, fishing, football, gardening and he loved going to Laughlin. He also loved being surrounded by his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Leroy was preceded in death by three of his brothers, Doyle Seaton, Leon Seaton and his twin, Charles Lavance Seaton. Survivors include his wife, Betty Seaton of Pixley; his children, Regena Brown and her husband Wayne, of Pixley, Janet Brazell and her husband Karl, of Pixley, Cathy Shawn and her husband Danny, of Tulare, James Leroy Seaton Jr. of Pixley, Jeff Seaton and his wife Judy, of Tulare, Lora Phelps and her husband Rick, of Tulare, Kevin Seaton and his wife Cindy, of Tulare, Greg Seaton and his wife Kim, of Pixley and Tabby Scheler and her husband Steve, of Tulare; six sisters, Margarite Speer and Faye Davis, both of Hanford, Bea Watkins of Antioch, Lorraine Andrews of Russellville, AR, Barbara White of Bullhead City, AZ, and Virginia Teves of Pixley; 27 grandchildren, Brandon Brown, Kendy Paim, Kara Munoz, Kesha Galbraith, Kiley Garcia, Bo Brazell, Chadney Shawn, Alissa McPhetridge, Ashley Brown, Miranda Phelps, Katie Phelps, Steven Scheler III, Stefani Scheler, Jody Scheler, Sarah Cline, Sydney Seaton, Jeff C. Seaton, Steven Seaton, Jeff D. Seaton, Monica Seaton, Ryan Seaton, Joshua Seaton, Jessica Seaton, Lindsey Seaton, Troy Seaton, Trey Seaton and Cierra Seaton; and 12 great-grandchildren, Dylan Paim, Miranda Munoz, Johnny Munoz, Darren Galbraith, Logan Galbraith, Autumn Galbraith, Elijah Garcia, Julian Garcia, Emily Crook, Seth Cline, Alexxi Seaton and Louis Yanez. Visitation will be held at Peers Lorentzen Funeral Chapel in Tulare on Friday, January 7, 2005, from 12:00 noon to 8:00 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held at Tulare Community Church, 1820 North Gem St. in Tulare on Saturday, January 8, 2005, at 11:00 a.m. Remembrances may be made to American Cancer Society, 211 No. Encina St., Visalia, CA 93291; or St. Judes Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN.
