JOHN HASKELL Obituary

John Bailey Haskell died peacefully at his home on April 6, 2010. He died as he lived, without complaint and with loving regard for the feelings and well-being of his loved ones. John was born on May 30, 1947, in Newhall, Ca. and had a wonderful childhood with great parents, a brother, cousins and friends. They had great times at his parent's hardware store, the pool hall, and hunting and fishing. John met his wife-to-be at Ventura College. They married and moved to Fresno in 1969, where they raised their family, and also enjoyed fishing, camping, and backpacking in the beautiful Sierras. John never met a person he didn't like, and brought his humor and enjoyment of people to the classroom where he taught high school for 17 years in Selma, and junior high for 16 years in Fresno. For years he was often recognized and greeted by previous students who had fond memories of Mr. Haskell. John was a loving husband, devoted and proud father of three children and a loyal friend. He will be remembered for his booming laugh, great humor, lengthy story telling, but most of all his selflessness and eternal patience. He is now without pain, walking straight and strong, fishing pole in one hand, Oreo cookies in the other, with an Eagles song in his step. He will be missed by all who know and love him but especially his wife Susan; daughter's, Kori Haskell and Jennifer Casados; his son, John-David Bailey Haskell; his brother, Charles Haskell; son-in-law, Mitch Casados; daughterin-law, Maria Aguado Haskell; and new baby granddaughter, Bailey Elizabeth Casados. A Memorial Gathering to celebrate John's life will be held at Belmont Country Club in Fresno on Saturday, April 17, 2010, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. NEPTUNE SOCIETY Of Central California 1154 W. Shaw Ave. Fresno (559)222-7764

There are a number of us who began our school lives at Newhall Elementary along with John. John was a gentle and caring person who we all have fond memories of. I pray for God's peace to envelope John's family.

John Haskell was a lifelong friend, more than 50 years. He was a member of a pioneer family. Our parents were friends before we were born. I have a thousand stories to tell about John. This is a tough one....

I was a classmate of John Haskell and I wanted to wish his family my sorrow for his passing. I still can see that smiling face in class and he will be missed.
