JOHN MATSUNO Obituary

John Yoshio Matsuno was born on December 23, 1927 in Glendale, AZ. John passed away peacefully, on February 17, 2018, surrounded by family. At the age of two, due to the death of his father, the family moved back to Hiroshima, Japan. After the war, John returned back to the United States, where he worked several jobs, until establishing John's Cafe, in 1964 in Dinuba, CA. John returned to Japan, and met his future wife, Emiko "Emi" Tamai. They were married in 1959. During his 35 years as a restaurant owner, John and Emiko raised three daughters, Iris, Judy and Grace. In 1999, John's Cafe closed, due to ill health of Emi, much to the sadness of many of his loyal customers. John is preceded in death by his wife, Emiko. He is survived by his three daughters and their spouses, Iris and Kliff Justesen of Sanger, Judy and David Nakashima of Whittier, Grace and Art Sasaki of Fresno, and seven grandchildren. Memorial Service will be held at the Dinuba Buddhist Church on Thursday, February 22, 2018 at 10:00 a.m.

No words can convey the sorrow arising from losing a family member. It is the ultimate reality and we all have to face it. The redeeming part is that you will always remember him and so he will still be with you. At this time we can only share with you the sadness of such a loss.
