Lois passed away on Saturday, July 11, 2009, at Fresno's Nazareth House at the age of 95.
Lois was born in Kansas, the sixth of seven children born to Arthur and Della Mulkey. She moved to Oakland, met and married Charles H. Cook. They were married for 65 years.
Lois was a member of the First Methodist Church and later the Wesley Methodist Church where she was active in the Ampersands and Ruth Circle. Lois was also a member of the Junior Assistance League at the YWCA.
She helped to instill the love of the outdoors in her children by taking them camping at Yellowstone and annual trips to Yosemite and the Monterey coast.
A special thanks to the Nazareth House for their wonderful care of our mother during the last years of her life.
Lois was preceded in death by her husband Charles in 2003.
She is survived by her four children, Ann Lamb, Tom Cook and his wife Sharon, Judy Bezzerides and her husband Don, and Marilyn Hanson and her husband Dan. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Rachel, Devin, Jeff, Tim, and Brad; and by three greatgrandchildren.
A Private Memorial Service was held by family.
