Louis Raymond Bubenik

A private military service will be held in honor of Louis Raymond Bubenik who took his journey to God Tuesday, January 22 at the age of 86. A long time resident of Sanger he was born in Granger, Texas to parents Steve and Elizabeth Bubenik. Louis was the third of 4 siblings, brother Benny, sister Evelyn and younger brother Roy. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Carleen; twin daughters, Karen and Sharon; and sons, Timothy and Steven. After returning to the states as an Air Force Korean War Veteran, he was a manager of a Food Bank grocery store. Later Louis went into the grocery business with a partner, operating the Shop N Bag Grocery Store in Clovis from 1968 to 1975. From 1975-2016, he and Carleen were grape farmers. A highlight in his life was attending an Honor Flight in 2016 with his life-long friend who served with him in Korea. "They had an absolutely wonderful experience." Louis loved telling military stories to his family and friends. He was very fortunate to have so many wonderful people in his life.
