MARC KOLE Obituary

Marc Allen Kole, a young man with a big smile and even bigger heart, passed away January 10, 2016, after a courageous battle with cancer. Marc was a sweet, kind and loving son, fiancé, brother, grandson, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend. After graduation from Clovis High in 1985, Marc held a few odd jobs until he found his niche with Mondelez, International, better known as Nabisco. Marc was known as The Cookie Man. He loved his job and the people he came in contact with at the stores where he delivered. Marc was known for his charismatic personality, and he made friends from all walks of life. He loved to sit in his garage after work with a cold beer, his English Mastiff Fred and fiancé Penny's dog Pepper. The garage door was always up, inviting friends and neighbors to stop by for a visit. All of those who knew and loved him are better people for having had him in their lives. Marc is survived by his parents, Dale and Carolyn Kole; his fiancé, Penny Miller; his sisters, Kim Gooden and Kathy Wise both of Fresno; his grandfather, Harry Grotts, who taught him how to camp and fish and even cuss a little; and his nieces and nephews Austin, Aidan, Amy and Shelby. Marc also leaves behind his very special aunts and uncle, cousins and close friends who were very important to him. His family would like to give a special thanks to the pharmacists at Save Mart #71 who were always there and went above and beyond for us; and to his neighbors Mike Silva, who came every day to take care of the dogs; and Kathy and Bill Strankman for the many things they did. We will see him again in God's Kingdom. Per Marc's request, no service will be held. Donations may be made, in honor of Marc, to St. Agnes Hospice, 6729 N. Willow Ave, Suite 103, Fresno, CA 93710.

Marc who my family called him Buckie. Marc and I were neighbors and grew up together as friends. We spent a great deal of time together as young kids which included camping in the back yard, riding our bikes everywhere (school, movies etc) and summers/winters up at Shaver Lake with the Black Family. Marc and I leaned at a young age how to snow ski which I am grateful for. I remember that he was very friendly and took the time to talk with just about anyone who has the time. Buckie always loved fast cars and spent time fixing his tucks as he grew older. I am so grateful for the memories we shared which I will take with me someday. Of all things Buckie and I also shared an autoimmune disease, which I learned about as we became adult, so we always had something to chat about. Just know that I always think about you and know that you are in peace and in great hands Im sure. Someday our paths will cross again Im sure.

Marc was the son we never had and the friend we could always count on. He used to joke "I don't have any friends". Nothing could be further from the truth. We are grateful to have known him and will miss him dearly. We will never forget the times we had. He will live in our hearts forever.

During my visits with Marc, I saw him demonstrate courage, dignity and his own special brand of humor. He loved his family and friends and they all loved him back in a big, big way during his struggle. God bless all of you as you grieve Marc's passing. Lynn and I are so, so sorry.
