I knew Mark from when we were kids around the age of 9 to 12. He would visit his grandparents who lived across the street in Selma California. His dad worked for PepsiCo and his stepmom had that famous 60s beehive hairdo that went up about a foot and a half, and was bright, bright red. Mark and I attended two weeks of summer camp each year up at the Sequoia lake, which is run by the YMCA. Those were epic summers for young men. We had a super cabin full of really high functioning athletes. We took first place in swimming, shooting, canoeing, etc. Mark is really fun to hang out with and we enjoyed just playing tag until the lights came on at night and we had to go home. We lost touch at age 12 and I briefly got in contact with him about 10 years ago. Almost all my memories of him Involved hysterical laughter.
