My first teaching assignment was at DHS with Nancy (she was the dept. chair at the time). She was warm, welcoming, and really tried to help me integrate into DHS society. No small task for a new teacher who grew up in a metropolis.

Mrs. McKittrick taught me typing and shorthand in the early 70´s. I guess she is the reason I managed to have a successful career as an administrative assistant.

I remember Miss Christopher´s first day at Dinuba High School
It was September 1964. We were sophomores gathered in the band room for first day home room. We were at the end of the alphabet since home rooms were selected this way
Talley, Tullís, Wells, Young, Zulim etc
Then strode in this very young woman. Pale, slim, very high heels and a determined look on her face. Good looking. No nonsense.
She told us to find a seat where we could so we went up the steep aisles of the band stand and sat among the music stands and drum sets
She called roll in a pleasant crystal clear voice
School had begun
