NANCY WOODRUFF Obituary

Theanne was born on August 19, 1935, in Glendale, Ca. She died suddenly and unexpectedly on Friday, February 26, 2010. Theanne grew up in southern California and graduated from Occidental College with a major in education. She taught elementary school in Marin County before moving to Fresno in 1960 where she raised her two children, Linda and David. She worked as a teacher and assistant for Fresno Unified School District (FUSD) for 35 years. Her passion was working with students in Special Education. After her retirement, she continued her life of service by volunteering at Fresno Community Medical Center. She enjoyed her volunteer work very much and had many dear close friends there. She touched so many lives and she will be missed dearly. She is mourned, loved and celebrated in particular by her children, Linda Chute, and David Woodruff; her grandchildren, Deanna and Christopher Kimoto, Ryan and Hannah Moench and Hannah Chute; and by her great-grandchildren, Bradley Moench, and Nathan and Haylie Kimoto; and by her sister, Jackie Falcone and her family in southern California. She continues to be an inspiration to them and to all her friends. She was such a huge part of all of our lives and things will never be the same without her. We will cherish all the wonderful memories we have of her. For many years every Saturday morning she ran and walked at Woodward Park with the Fresno Joggers. A Memorial Gathering is planned at the Lake View Picnic Area at Woodward Park on Saturday, March 20, 2010, at 10:00 a.m. In Theanne's honor, please bring a story or memory you would like to share and something chocolate. Remembrances may be made to the Salvation Army, Fresno ARC, 804 Parallel Ave., Fresno, Ca. 93721, or to the donor's favorite charity. My grandmother was the sweetest woman i have ever met. She was always smiling and cheerful. She would do anything she could to help anyone without them asking her. I can't believe she is gone and I miss her so much. I love you gram.

Theanne was a wonderful person who truly cared about others first. I worked with her at CRMC for a couple of years and she was always pleasant, caring, dedicated and a true joy to be around. My sympathies to her family.
