PATRICIA ASBURY Obituary

Patricia Asbury was born on March 23, 1936, in Fresno, CA, and recently passed away in Auburn, CA on Tuesday, April 14, 2015, from respiratory failure. She had moved to Northern California just that week to be closer to some of her children. Family was able to gather and worked together to make her as comfortable as possible. She was well aware that she was surrounded by their loving presence. Patricia loved her children and worked hard to provide a stable home for them. She passed on her love of auto racing and the outdoors, talent for sewing and quick ability with numbers to her children. When she had free time, she enjoyed day trips to the foothills, particularly Yosemite and Monterey, which she considered her second home. As a breast cancer survivor, she was proud to participate in many "Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure" walks and enjoyed the shirts and pins that reminded others that cancer is survivable and research for its cure is paramount. After her children left the home, Patricia spent her working career in retail sales with Macy's and Gottschalk's in Fresno. Clothes shopping quickly became her unofficial hobby. She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Frances Colosanto Cetti, and Carlo Cetti; and her step-mother, Geraldine Costa Cetti. She is survived by her brothers, Robert Cetti of Fresno, Carlo Cetti and his wife Jan of Carlsbad, CA, and Brian Cetti and his wife Sandy of Fresno; her children, Chris Asbury and his wife Cathy of Auburn, CA, Lori Belski and her husband Mike of Foothill Ranch, CA, Brad Asbury of Sacramento, CA; her granddaughters, Kendra and Kimberly Asbury; and several nieces and nephews and their families. Visitation will be held at Whitehurst Sullivan Burns & Blair Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 21, 2015, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church at 5770 N. Maroa, in Fresno, CA, on Wednesday, April 22, 2015, at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that remembrances be made to the Susan G. Komen Fund, 5730 N. First St. #105, Fresno, CA 93710, in her honor. Whitehurst, Sullivan, Burns and Blair Funeral Home, 1525 East Saginaw Way, Fresno, California (559)227-4048

Pat was a great support to me in the breast cancer support group we attended. Even those were trying times, I will treasure the friendship made during the time and will always have fond memories of her during that time and during the races and every other time I saw her.

To the Asbury Family,

You were Pat's greatest treasure in life.
She loved you all!!
She was the happiest when she got a visit, card, phone call from one of you.

I'm so grateful that she got to make the trip to Monterey.....we had spoken
of it so many times in the last year.
I'm so grateful that she was with all of you in the end and I know she felt
your love.

Chris, Cathy and Lori...I was so grateful to have had the time to spend
with you and know you ARE ALL she thought you were.

God bless you and keep you during this
time.

Offering our deepest condolences during this difficult time.

Dearest Family, Pat loved you all so very much. You have done everything you possibly could to help her in her hours of need. She was so blessed to have you, her family, work so hard in her behalf.

I always enjoyed being with Pat - even as we were soaked under umbrellas at graduations! We shared a family we both love.

We all need each other, and you were an amazing support to her as her health declined so rapidly. God bless you in your pain. You were a wonderful blessing to her.

Much love, Mary Dickerson Frantz
