Patsy wasn't just my friend she was my sister. We became that when both sets of parents moved into their homes on White street. We were only children with the except Patsy had a half-brother. Together we played everyday at her house or my house and we shared our parents especially our Mothers. We learned things from each of our Mothers in a wonderful neighborhood, where all the Mothers looked after the children. Patsy and I had another special Mother named Pearl Filgas who had five babies. We learned how to be Mothers mainly from Pearl who was more than happy to let us play with her real-life baby dolls and learned to fold diapers, cook and sew. My Mother was a good cook and loved flowers, art, music and could play cards. Patsy's Mom could iron clothes and had the best cement porch in the neighborhood. Patsy and I skated on that porch all the time. My childhood was great but Patsy made it better. I will always love and miss her.
