Fresno, California - Sarkis Dick Davidian, 100, passed away on July 15, 2025, in Fresno, California.
Born on March 9, 1925, Sarkis was the son of Harry and Kouhar Davidian, Armenian immigrants who fled Harpoot during the Armenian Genocide. A proud native of Fresno, he attended Winchell Elementary and Fresno Tech High School before serving his country as a Second Lieutenant B-17 bomber pilot in the U.S. Air Force during World War II from 1944 to 1946.
A true entrepreneur, Sarkis founded Davidian Construction Co. and was the owner of Motorville Auto Sales. He held both his broker's and contractor's licenses until his passing, a testament to his work ethic and dedication.
Sarkis shared 77 devoted years with his beloved wife Irene, who preceded him in death. Together, they built a life filled with love, adventure, and family. He is also predeceased by his son Stan Paramore; sister Mary Surabian; brothers Leo, harry, Kisag, Souren ; and his parents.
He is survived by his son Chuck Davidian; grandson Todd Paramore; granddaughter Mary Nichole Davidian; great-granddaughter Madison Paramore; and the extended Surabian family.
A man of many passions, Sarkis was a long-standing member of the Elks Lodge where he enjoyed playing cards. He and Irene loved to dance in their younger years and later found joy traveling and cruising together. An avid athlete throughout his life, Sarkis played racquetball, golf, ran marathons at Capitola Beach, and even started a softball team with friends and family.
A funeral service will be held on July 25 at 2:00 p.m. at Chapel of the Light in Fresno, California. A reception will follow.
Sarkis will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, wisdom, and unwavering spirit. May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him.
