Simon Simonian Obituary

Simon Simonian passed away peacefully, with his family by his side, on August 8, 2007 at the age of 91. Born to Boghos and Gusina Simonian, Simon was raised in Yettem, California. During World War II, he served as an Army Corps Engineer stationed in Australia. After marrying Armon Moor-digian, of Sanger, in 1946, the couple settled in Fresno. There, Simon turned his life-long passion for building into a 40 year long career in custom home construction. Simon was a member of St. Paul Armenian Church, the Knights of Vartan, and the Big Game Gang. His enthusiasm for cars drove him to the Sierra Chapter Model A Ford Club, where he was a member for over 40 years. Simon was preceded in death by his only grandson, Jeffrey S. Simonian. He is survived by his devoted wife of 61 years, Armon; son, Dr. Roger Simonian and wife Bonnie; son, Brent Simonian and wife Judi; grandchildren, Jill, Denise, and Amanda Simonian; sister, Margaret Parsons of Visalia; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Simon loved life and enjoyed his morning coffee visits with friends. His smile and sense of humor will be greatly missed by all. Visitation will be held at Yost & Webb Funeral Home on Monday, August 13, 2007, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. A Knights of Vartan Service will be held at Yost & Webb Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 14, 2007, at 9:45 a.m., followed by a Funeral Service at St. Paul Armenian Church at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be at Belmont Memorial Park. Remembrances may be made to St. Paul Armenian Church in Fresno, or St. Mary Armenian Church in Yettem. YOST & WEBB FUNERAL HOME Fresno, Ca. (559)237-4147 www.YostandWebb.com
