SOCORRO CANDIA PADILLA "Le Cora"

Cora was born in Coraleo, Chihuahua, Mexico on November 3, 1919, and passed away on Wednesday, September 14, 2005, at the age of 85. She had been a resident of Fresno since 1960. She was preceded in death by her parents, Macario Candia and Ramona Lara; brothers, Francisco Candia and Ramon Candia; sister, Aucensia Rojas; son, Fernando Castro; and grandson, Jason Castro. Cora was a devoted wife, homemaker, mother, grand- mother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother whose greatest joy was cooking meals, and spending time and visiting with her family and friends. She is survived by her husband, Antonio Padilla; her brothers, Jesus Rodriguez and Guadalupe Rodriguez; her sisters, Paula Hernandez, Lucy Rodriguez and Beatrice Rodriguez; children, Pauline Ramirez, Frank Ramos, Pete Ramos, Ruben Ramos, Elena Gonzalez, Guadalupe Martinez, Juan Martinez, Dolores Delatorre, Roberto Castro and Jose Castro; 38 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren. Visitation will be held at Palm Colonial Funeral Home on Sunday, September 18, 2005, from 12:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Recitation of the Rosary will follow from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A Funeral Service and Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. John's Cathedral on Monday, September 19, 2005, at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Belmont Memorial Park. alm2,,100,p PALM MEMORIAL CHAPEL2983 Tulare Street(559) 233-7267

Cora was a generous, thoughtful person who loved her family very much and she did so much for them. She worried as a mother will for all her children. she wanted the best for them. She leaves behind for each one of her children and grand children her strength to make it and have a better life.
