Skye Rench Obituary
Skye Rench
November 6, 1992 - March 6, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of Skye Thomas Rench's passing on March 6, 2025, at the age of 32. Skye was born on November 6, 1992, and from the start, he lived a life full of energy, passion, and love. He was a devoted protector to those closest to him, especially his sister and brother-together, they were an unstoppable trio.
Skye was born and raised in the Mat-Su Valley in Wasilla, Alaska, and graduated from Colony High School in 2011. From an early age, he showed his dedication to everything he did. Whether it was on the football field, wrestling mat, or in the gym, Skye always pushed himself to be better. He hit the 1,000-pound club in weightlifting and competed in CrossFit, never backing down from a challenge. He wasn't one to complain about pain or obstacles; he faced them head-on.
At 19, Skye joined IBEW as an apprentice powerline man and quickly worked his way up to become a foreman. He eventually co-founded his own company, Helacomm Communications, with three friends. Skye took a lot of pride in his work and was always ready to give it his all.
But Skye didn't just work hard-he played just as hard. His time off was all about adventure. Whether hunting, riding snowmachines, or exploring the Alaskan wilderness with friends, Skye was happiest outdoors. His fun-loving spirit, adventurous nature, and the way he showed up for the people he cared about made him someone everyone loved being around.
While Skye had a tough side, those who knew him understood his gentle heart. A hug from Skye wasn't just a hug-it was a real embrace that made you feel loved and safe. He was honest, thoughtful, and always spoke with purpose. Skye had a unique ability to build lasting friendships, and to know him was to love him.
Skye was incredibly fortunate to find the love of his life, Heidi Goozen. The connection they shared was something special-truly in sync with one another.
Skye's impact on everyone he met is something we'll all carry with us. He's left behind countless memories and stories that will live on forever.
Skye is survived by his finance' Heidi Goozen, his parents, Thomas H. Rench and Stacey (Kevin) Calder; his siblings, Chelsea Rench and Austin Rench, grandmother, Virginia Kovar, many aunts, uncles and cousins, and so many close friends who will miss him deeply.
Skye was preceded in death by grandparents Richard Kovar, Thomas E., and Luan Rench.
A celebration of Skye's life took place on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at 1 p.m. at Teeland Middle School, 2788 N Seward Meridian Pkwy, Wasilla, Alaska. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider donating to the GoFundMe
