Bobby Eugene "Bob" Hinesley, age 85, of Rossville, passed away peacefully on Nov. 6, 2021.

Bob was born to Lottie (Gochenour) and Everett "Beaner" Hinesley on June 6, 1936, the second of three sons. His brothers were Joe (Ramona) and Don (Connie) Hinesley).

Bob is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Linda Kay (Ottinger) Hinesley, and their children, Teri (Matt) Tucciarelli of Florida, Vicki (Bill) Baker of Alabama, Penny (Lee) Hogenson of Washington and Brad (Dianna) Hinesley of Rossville. He is also survived by six grandchildren, Angela (Josh), Nick (Megan), Anthony (Marissa), Brent (Krystyna), Jami and Jordyn; and six great-grandchildren, Mia, Mackenzie, Campbell, Luca, Logan and Ethan.

Bobby graduated from Rossville High School (Class of 1954), trained in the Army Reserves and retired from Landis and Gyr (Duncan) Electric after 43 years. After retirement Bobby worked at Angel Hill Golf course for 19 years, and he was an avid golfer who twice scored a hole-in-one.

His hobbies included woodworking, bird watching and visiting family and friends. Bobby held many fond memories of his days coaching Little League baseball. One of his favorite activities was cruising around town in his golf cart with his wife, Linda, and his beloved pet dog, Zoe. Bobby was known by all as a loving, kind, compassionate soul.

Bob was a member of the Brethren Church of Rossville and for 36 years. He served ice cream to thousands of area families as a member of the Rossville Lions Club.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 21 at the Genda Funeral Home – Rossville Chapel 450 IN-39, Rossville, IN 46065.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations to be made to Rossville Lions Club and the Rossville Brethren Church.

Brad, Linda and family, Tiffany and I are saddened by the loss of Bobby. I never heard him say an unkind word and even as he was feeling bad he still was upbeat and had a smile. He will be missed.
