Jay Osbon Obituary

Jay Nelson Osbon, 70, of Lebanon, passed away unexpectedly on June 13, 2024, at his home. Born on July 6, 1953, in Tipton, IN, Jay was the son of the late Carl S. Osbon Jr. and late Jane Isabelle (Bath) Osbon.

Jay grew up in Frankfort, IN, and graduated from Frankfort High School in 1971. He then moved to Florida, where he began a lifelong career as a Journeyman Electrician. He worked various jobs, from construction to manufacturing, and eventually moved back to Indiana, retiring from Pearson Education in Lebanon as an Electrician and Programming Analyst in 2016.

Jay cherished his two daughters and took immense pride in their achievements. He enjoyed road trips to Florida, collecting rocks, making jewelry, music, and attending concerts. Jay found peace in his backyard flower garden, where he loved bird-watching and feeding wildlife. Known for his sense of humor, kindness, and compassion, Jay will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his daughters, Jena Steele of Indianapolis, IN, and Kristen (Kevin) Kile of Bunker Hill, IN; grandchildren Ayla Kile, Brooklyn Steele, Monroe Kile, Charli Kile, and Alaina Steele; and siblings Michael Osbon of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Linda (Terry) Leazenby of Frankfort, IN, Jim Osbon of Frankfort, IN, and Patrick Osbon of Lebanon, IN.

Information about the memorial service will follow (www.myersmortuary.com). Donations can be made to the Indiana Audubon Society or Providence Wildlife Rehabilitation.
