Lloyd "Franklin" Grove, 86, of Lafayette, passed away Saturday, Oct. 30, 2021 at Franciscan East.
Franklin was born Aug. 20, 1935 at home in Kempton to the late John and Mildred Marie (McDaniel) Grove. He graduated in 1953 from Jackson Township High School. He was a supervisor at Purdue Animal Science from 1958 to 2000.
Franklin married Bonnie Mae Hessong on Oct. 10, 1953 in Crawfordsville. She proceeds him in death.
He attended Crestview Community Church on Ortman Lane and actively volunteered at church. He also enjoyed yardwork, fishing, gardening and mushroom hunting. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family.
Surviving are one son and three daughters, David Franklin (Karen) Grove of Lafayette, Teresa Mae (Bill) Suppes of Riverton, Wyoming, Rebecca "Beckie" Sue (Ed) Courtright of Remington and Elizabeth "Beth" Jane (Scott) Sharp of Nashville, Illinois; and a brother, James Michael (Barbara) Grove of Commiskey. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
He is proceeded in death by his parents; wife, Bonnie; grandson, Byron Courtright; and sister, Marilyn Grove.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 7, 2021 at Hippensteel Funeral Home. Funeral service will begin at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 8, 2021 at the funeral home with Pastor Todd Hair officiating. Entombment will follow at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens.
