She was united by God on Oct. 28, 1951 to Lowell Adrain Carney at the Kirklin Christian Church. Mr. Carney went to be with the Lord on Aug. 28, 1984.

Lucille was the second oldest of six children, Latham Lawson, Larry Lawson, Ivan Lawson, Doris (Sam Pedigo) Lawson and Ida (Curt Ray) Lawson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lowell; grandson Greg; brothers, Larry and Latham; and sister, Doris Pedigo.

During her lifetime, Lucille enjoyed having the privilege of serving her Lord in many ways. She was given a voice to praise God in song – a gift that was used to lead Worship Service for 35 years at the Elizaville Christian Church, as well as singing for revivals, weddings and entertaining at different nursing homes. Because of her love for children, she taught Sunday school, worked with youth groups and vacation bible school.

She enjoyed baking and decorating wedding cakes for over 45 years as well as being an Avon Representative and Assistant District Manager.

Lucille enjoyed helping her husband on their farm – from working the fields to taking care of the animals. She also liked to can and freeze foods for the winter months. After the passing of her husband, she sold life insurance, became a travel agent, tour planner and tour escort for Lebanon Travel and Imperial Travel of Lafayette, traveling all over the United States and Canada.

Lucille loved people and appreciated serving them as she worked at Crown Point, Walmart, Bob Evans, Lees Inn and Ellis Jewelry. She also did some private duty service for excel Home Healthcare and had the honor of serving as a counsel for Life Centers.

But above all Lucille loved her family – her husband, Lowell; and their four children, Richard (LouAnn Higer), Loretta (Terry Posey), Nancy (Ray Parker) and Linda (Kent Armstrong).

Blessings continued with seven grandchildren, Gregory (Kristina Likens) Carney, Sandi (Gordon Matts) Posey, Christy (Chris Edwards) Carney, Aimee Posey, Jennifer Moore, Valerie (Fox) Moore, Rachel (Justin Mitchell) Moore, followed by 19 great-grandchildren.

Her spirit and commitment to her Lord and her community will be greatly missed.
