Myrtie May (Amos) Tharp, 82, of Frankfort, passed away Oct. 11, 2021 in her home. She was born on Oct. 2, 1939 in Wayne County, Kentucky to John and Mattie (Corrinder) Smith.

Myrtie attended Mulberry High School. She worked for National Cigar Factory for six years, Jewel Simon for five years, was a chef at Frankfort Moose Lodge for 12-and-a-half years, was a CNA for Wesley Manor and retired as a CNA from Northwood Village in Kokomo after nine years. She attended Connecting Point Church in Frankfort. She loved cooking, sewing and quilting, but her greatest joy was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Myrtie is survived by her daughters, Lue Ann (Dennis) Morrow of Delphi and Michelle Renee Johnson of Kokomo; sons, Clayton Lloyd Amos Jr. of Frankfort, Dorsel William Amos of Frankfort and Jeff Lynn (Sheri) Amos of Greenfield; 10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, a sister, and a son, Charles Kevin.

Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 18, 2021 at Archer-Weston Funeral & Cremation Center, 501 East Clinton Street, Frankfort. Friends may visit from 11 a.m. until the time of service at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Bunnell Cemetery, Frankfort.
