Promise Leah Kristine Mays, 21, of Frankfort, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 18, 2021.

She was born Feb. 18, 2000, in Lafayette and graduated from Harrison High School in 2019 and attended Ivy Tech.

Promise loved her work as a shift lead and her NHK family.

She was a member with her fiancée of Ground Level Car Club. Promise loved to volunteer at the Clinton County Humane Society, shopping, art, and her fur babies or as she would say her kids, Milo, Mario, Meadow, Ozzy and Manny.

Surviving are her parents, Michael R. (Stephanie) Mays of West Lafayette and Penny (Dennis) Anes of Frankfort; two sisters, Mason Etherton and Keegan Smith; a brother, Derek Merritt; a step-sister, Ciara (Matt) Dunham; a step-brother, David Anes; and her fiancée, Cadon Deardorff of Frankfort. Also surviving are nephews Max, Winston and Brody.

A celebration of Promise's life will be held from 4-8 p.m. on Saturday, August 28, 2021 at Trish's Red Bird Café, 696 Walnut St. Dayton, IN. Family and friends of both Promise and Pamela are invited.

Friends are also welcome at the visitation for Pamela Sledd, her grandmother who passed away with her, from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 27, 2021 at Soller-Baker Funeral Home, 400 Twyckenham Blvd. Lafayette.
