Susan Lydia Bulin, 66, of Greentown, passed away Nov. 25, 2021, at St. Vincent hospital in Kokomo. She was born on Oct. 23, 1955, in Logansport, to Cornelius "Neil" and Meriam (Johnson) Bolinger, and grew up in Forest. Susan married the love of her life, David Bulin, on Nov. 24, 1984, at St Patrick's Catholic Church in Kokomo.

Susan was a 1973 graduate of Clinton Central High School. She received a Bachelor of Science in Education from IUK, and Master of Science in Education from IUPUI. She worked as a special education teacher at several schools, most recently Maple Crest Middle School. Susan retired in 2015 but continued teaching as a remedial reading teacher at Maple Crest until final retirement in 2019.

Susan enjoyed gardening and had the most beautiful flower beds each year. She was a member of the Master Gardeners of Howard County. She also enjoyed cooking, canning, fishing, camping, covered bridges, hiking trails at Indiana State Parks, mushroom hunting, reading, singing, golfing, and going to concerts, especially groups from the '60s. She loved the Indy 500, dirt track sprint car racing, and rooting on her favorite NASCAR drivers, Dale Jarrett and Jimmie Johnson. She also enjoyed attending antique tractor shows and AMC car shows, where she always had a story about her 1959 Rambler and loved telling it to anyone that looked at her car.

She was an avid fan of the Colts and Purdue. She loved her yearly trip to Singer Island, Jupiter, or Daytona Beach, Florida for spring break, where she would get her "natural" suntan. She was famous among family and friends for her homemade salsa. Susan was a loving animal person, and she had many cats and several dogs throughout the years. Her favorite was Peewee the cat, who passed away a couple years ago.

Surviving are her husband, Dave of Greentown; mother, Meriam Bolinger of rural Frankfort; mother-in-law, Mary Bulin of Lubbock, Texas; daughter, Michelle (Chip) Hardaway of Romney; son, Greg Bulin (partner Laci Thompson) of Kokomo; grandchildren, Gabriella and Lukas Paul-Bulin of Noblesville; sister, Dr. Linda (Joe) Law of Columbia Falls, Montana; brothers, Mark (Chizuko) Bolinger of Sugarland, Texas, and Matthew (Debbie) Bolinger of Beaver, Oklahoma; best friend and sister-in-law, Beth Bolinger of Auburn; sisters-in-law, Jeanette (Robert) Wardinski and Audrey (Kevin) Key, both of Wisconsin, and Nicole Bulin of Lubbock, Texas; aunt, Carolyn Boyce of Salina, Kansas; uncle, Mike Bolinger of Kokomo, and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death was her father, Cornelius Bolinger; infant sister, Karen Kay Bolinger; brother, Christopher Bolinger; and grandparents, Edgar and Lola Johnson and Clifford and Alma Bolinger.

A celebration of life and a graveside service will be held at a later date. Shirley and Stout Funeral Home and Crematory, 1315 W Lincoln Rd, Kokomo are assisting the family with arrangements. Memorial donations may be made to Kokomo Humane Society, 729 E Hoffer St, Kokomo, Indiana.
