Ermelinda C Sailas

1921 - 2013

Ermelinda C. Sailas, 91, of Ft. Lupton, passed away May 6, 2013. She was born June 22, 1921, in Costilla, N.M. to Frank DeHerrera and Anna Cisneros. She married Raymond Sailas in 1941.
Ermelinda was a jack of all trades and enjoyed getting her hands into everything she could. She enjoyed dancing, camping, gardening and playing marbles. She loved to do embroidery work and painting. More than anything, she loved to spend time with her family.
Ermelinda is survived by her children, Gloria Torres of Wattenberg, Patrick (Barbara) Sailas of Brighton, Ida (Manuel) Campuzano of Brighton, Anita (Margarito) Navarro of Wattenberg, Helen Sailas of Wattenberg, James (Janet) Sailas of Wattenberg; brother, Archie (Lena) DeHerrera of Wyoming; sisters, Renee (Pete) Alvarado of Denver and Obre (Albert) Cisneros of Denver; 22 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond in 1989; two children, Raymond Junior and Ernie; two sisters, Mary and Francis; three brothers, Pat, Arthur and Armando.
A Rosary service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 9, with visitation one hour prior at Tabor-Rice Funeral Home in Brighton. Mass of Christian burial will follow at 11 a.m. Friday, May 10, at St. Augustine Catholic Church. Interment at Fairview Cemetery.
