Trooper Craig A. Gaines, 58, of Tallahassee, FL, transitioned on Friday, September 19, 2025.
Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 28, 2025, at Bradwell Mortuary in Quincy, FL. Celebration of Life Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, September 29, 2025, at Restoration Place Church in Tallahassee, FL.
A man after God's own heart, Craig devoted his life to faith, family, and service. He is remembered for his unwavering strength, compassion, and commitment to those he loved.
Trooper Gaines leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife of 28 years, Rebecca Hightower Gaines; his children, Craig Antony Gaines II, Crasharra Antonia Gaines, and PFC Cameron Alexander Gaines (Takeena); his parents, Roland H. Gaines (Irene) and Johnnie M. Niles; his siblings, LTC (Ret.) Rodney Rose (Natasha) and TJ Rose (Jody); special aunts, Shirley D. Thomas and Kaye Gaines; aunts, Joyce Jackson, Hazel Randolph, and Rebecca Simmons; sisters-in-law, Eva Derrico, Lizzie Brundidge (Tommie), Elizabeth Hightower, and Willie M. Dorsey; brothers-in-law, Charles Hightower (Samantha), Richard Hightower, and Tommie Hightower (Teresa); special friends, John & D'Andrea Cotton; special co-workers, Master Corporal Patricia Shaw, Trooper Dario Harris, and Trooper Deon Sanders; as well as his grandchildren, godchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of extended family and friends.
