Bascom Yates Obituary

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 2, 2014, at Webster's Chapel Baptist Church for Bascom E. "Buck" Yates, 86, of Hokes Bluff, who passed away January 27, 2014. Bros. Michael Yates and Allen Pock will officiate. Glencoe-Hokes Bluff Funeral Home & Cemetery is in charge of services.
Mr. Yates was of the Baptist faith. He loved fishing and doing woodworking. He never met a stranger.
He was preceded in death by his wives, Annie "Patty" Yates and Ellen "Momma" Yates; son, Kyle D. Sanders Jr.; daughter-in-law, Vickie L. Yates; parents, Louis E. Yates and Jamie Crane Yates; brothers, Clyde Cook, J. T. Cook and Brent Yates; sister, Mary Howard.
He is survived by his sons, James (Joann) Sanders, Michael Yates, Billy (Miki) Yates; daughter, Sandra (Tommy) Taylor; 21 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be grandsons.
Special thanks to all the friends and family who have helped us these past months, all the staff at Amedisys Hospice Care, Dr. Sanders, Dr. Warren, Jay Beggs, the congregation of Webster's Chapel Church, most of all, our Lord Jesus Christ.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Webster's Chapel Baptist Church.
The body will lie in state from noon until time of service Sunday at the church.
