Betty Sheffeld Obituary

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. today at Mt. Pisgah Bapist Church for Betty Sheffield, 69, Gadsden, who died Monday, June 23, 2008. The Revs. Albert Morgan and Kenneth Lasseter will officiate. Burial will be at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery. Village Chapel Funeral Home and Cremation Services is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Sheffield retired from Kmart after 33 years of service. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Sheffield; son, Michael Sheffield; father, C.B. Boyd; mother, Alta Mae Kidd; stepfather, T.N. "Jack" Kidd; and brother, Charles Kenneth Boyd.

She is survived by her son, Timothy Neil Sheffield; grandchildren, Crystal and Matthew Sheffield; daughter-in-law, Teresa Sheffield; nephews, Kenneth Boyd, Chicago, Ill., Christopher Boyd, Birmingham, Stan Sheffield and Philip Sheffield; niece, Cindy Sheffield; sister-in-law, Era Lou Sheffield; and special cousins, Steve (Paula) Pruitt, Peggy Elliot and Glenda Smith.

Pallbearers will be Tim Farley, John Marsh, Loe Harbin, Jerry Yates, Lawayne Hilderbrand and Steve Pruitt.

Special "thanks" to Kim McDaniel, Kristi (Jerry) Yates, Dr. H. Patel and Southern Care Hospice, nurses and staff of Riverview Medical Center.

The body will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service.
