Billy Cox Obituary

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Galilee Baptist Church, Gadsden, for Billy Ray Cox, who departed this life Friday, May 25, 2007. The Rev. G.E. Robinson, pastor, and the Rev. Tim Madden, officiating. Interment in Oaklawn Cemetery. West Gadsden Funeral Home directing.

Billy Ray Cox was born Aug. 22, 1966, in Gadsden, to the parentage of Mr. Rufus and Joan Cox.

He was a member of the Damascus Baptist Church, member of the Class of 1985 at Emma Sansom High School. He was employed with the state of Alabama. He was married to Pam Fowlkes Cox, Montgomery.

He leaves to cherish his memories, a loving wife, Pam Fowlkes Cox; children, Sidnee Denise Fowlkes, Billy Ray Cox Jr. and Chad Leray Miller, Montgomery; father and mother, Rufus and Joan Cox, Gadsden; brother, Rufus (Sabrina) Cox Jr., Gadsden; grandmother, Mary E. Gregory; aunts, Ruth Cox and Eleanor Cox, Gadsden; niece, Brittany Cox; nephew, Jaylan Cole, all of Gadsden; special children, Megan Cox and Ebony Cox, Montgomery; uncle, Leroy Chandler, Niagara Falls, N.Y.; father- and mother-in-law, Johnny (Louise) Fowlkes, Montgomery; and a host of relatives and friends and extended family; and a dear friend, Lisa Holmes, Montgomery.
