Donnie Vickery Obituary
Mr. Vickery went to be with the Lord on December 25, 2015. He was a retiree of Goodyear with 39 years of service. He was a dedicated father and grandfather who served in the Navy from 1969-1972.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Austin and Bonnie Vickery; sisters, Patricia Ann Sharpton, Glenda Barnett and Judy Pollard.
Mr. Vickery is survived by his brother, James (Gloria) Vickery; sister, Virginia Washburn; sons, Donnie (Diana) Vickery and Chris (Sonya) Vickery; grandchildren, Zach Hunt, Jesse Hunt, Anna Vickery, Taylor Vickery and Austin Vickery; great-grandchildren, Lily Hunt and Noah Vickery.
Pallbearers will be Zach Hunt, Jesse Hunt, Johnny Jones, Wayne Russell, James Bickle and Jeff Morris.
Honorary pallbearers will be Austin Vickery and Noah Vickery.
The family requests no flowers.
The family will receive friends from noon to 2 p.m. prior to the service Tuesday at the funeral home.

Goodbye may little brother. As I look back on our lives, I will always remember our last phone call last week when you said "I love you big brother and tell Gloria I love her too. Donnie was a good friend and co-worker, always was a hard worker and was not afraid of work. Donnie stood on principle and was an advocate for many as he served as union representative for many years in the plant. I have always counted him as a good friend, we started out as young men in the plant with a bright future and carried that with us throughout our careers. He always had time to stop and visit when we had time, those are just some of the things I will miss about my friend, he was always concerned about others and put them first. That was Donnie, he has left us, but will live on in our memories.

This wonderful man was my Uncle Donnie. He was also my friend, and sentimental buddy. I loved him so much and will miss his phone calls and long discussions of past memories. Uncle Donnie, you will forever be in my heart and I will love you always.

Donnie was my special first cousin. He was a big part of my happy childhood. I will be forever grateful for the reconnection we had the last couple of years. I loved him very much. We shared lots of time and long talks. He loved his boys and their families, and his siblings. Until we meet again!
