Julia Milam Obituary
Mrs. Milam was born and raised in Gadsden, Ala. She attended local schools and graduated from Gadsden High School in 1948 and the University of Alabama in 1952. She was a public welfare worker in Gadsden, Ala., and Decatur, Ga. She also taught kindergarten at Westminster Christian School in Gadsden. She was an active member of First Presbyterian Church in Gadsden, serving as a Sunday School teacher and in the choir.
She was preceded in death by husband, Bill Milam; son, Todd Garrison Milam; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Garrison; and brother, Howard Garrison Jr.
She is survived by her son, Steve Milam; daughter-in-law, Donna Milam; grandson, David Todd Milam; sister, Margaret Copeland and family; and Ray Milam and family.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to John Croyle's Big Oak Boys Ranch or Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Atlanta, Ga.
Visitation will be at the funeral home two hours prior to the service.
