Mair Humphries Obituary
South Wales - Mair Humphries was born in South Wales on March 13, 1938 and passed away January 26, 2021.
She was the only daughter, with three brothers. Married to the love of her life Mike in 1963, daughter was born in 1969. She worked in insurance in England, emigrated to America in 1938, making a life in Gadsden, Alabama. She was a member of the Gadsden Greeters, Lions Club, and Altrusa. She was quick witted and always ready with a joke. She was dedicated to all that she loved, making us strive to be the best versions of ourselves. There is a hole now that can only be filled by God.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Margaret and Hywel Rhys Williams; brothers, Brython and Gruff Williams; and brother-in-law, Ken Shaffer.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Michal Humphries; daughter, Sarah Hancock; granddaughters, Haley Tolbert, Hannah Tolbert and McKenzie Hancock; brother, Gareth Williams and wife, Maureen, sister-in-law, Jill Shaffer; brother-in-law, Patrick Humphries and wife, Jean, Judith Bavister, Derrel and Susie Shaffer, Dale and Laurie Shaffer, David and Claire Williams, Lloyd and Cath Williams, Sian and Nathan Vorce, Susannah and Graham Williams.
The family requests no flowers.
Special thanks to Riverview hospital CCU staff for the amazing care they provided. They are the team you want fighting for your loved ones. We would also like to thank all the people that prayed for Mair.

To Mair family, I am so sorry for you loss. Mair was a good friend in the Greeters with me and I had just spoken with her and Mical. She will be missed by many a friend in Gadsden/Rainbow City. Our prayers are will her family, Sally and John Lane
